It looks as though the person who registered his death was an inmate called John Ross

I’m now thinking this mustn’t be the correct Joseph Crumly because Mary died the year before him and both of her parents were deceased when she died

Erm, the dob for "Stewart" child born 1859 seems early for a mother supposedly born c 1847, so is the Mary of the death certificate in your first post, one and the same?

His death cert records he was the widower of Elizabeth Fitzsimmons, so pretty conclusive

I believe it’s the same Mary. I can only assume her son put the wrong age on the death certificate. I’ve attached her son John’s death certificate
