Smith Family Nottingham (George Oxby Smith)
« on: Monday 13 February 23 16:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi I haven’t used this forum before so not too sure if I’m doing this right,

I’ve very recently started researching my family tree and am looking into the Smith family in Nottingham who were travellers. My great grandmother who is helping me with this search is Joan Marie Smith (now Phillips) is daughter of Sidney Smith, who is the son of George Oxby Smith.

I was wondering if anyone has any information on George Oxby Smith and his other children or his life in general, I’ve read he may have been a controversial man?

Any information is very helpful, Thankyou!

Izzy, my great grandmother was Esmeralda/espirella smith, daughter to George oxby smith who was my great great grandad. think that makes us somehow related! from the story's I've heard George wasn't the nicest man was dealt with by the police 81 times!. I've read some really interesting things about George and his sons on this page
