Stephen Bullyng and Katherine his wife are bringing a suit in Chancery against William Werde and William Collyn.
John Werde, Katherine’s father, whilst he lived, was seised in his demesne as of fee (= held the freehold) in a tenement and 13 acres of woodland, with appurtenances, in Tenterden. When he died he enfeoffed William Werde and William Collyn with this property, under certain conditions (which aren’t stated here). The Bullyngs claim that 13 years after the death of John Werde the feoffees are still in possession of the property and are still drawing the profits. They ask for William Werde and William Collyn to be subpoena’d to appear in court and explain why they are contravening the conditions laid down by John Werde.
I think both pieces are essentially saying the same thing, but the condition of the first one makes it hard to read all the detail.
I can’t see any relationship stated for William Werde.
