1861 census issues with FindMyPast
« on: Wednesday 22 February 23 23:33 GMT (UK) »
It's happened a couple of times now that other RootsChatters using other FH sites have referred to entries in the 1861 census that I simply cannot find using FindMyPast, even though I have full particulars of the location, names and ages of the people they are referring to.

Is there a known problem with the accuracy of the indexing of the 1861 census transcriptions on FindMyPast, or have I just been unlucky?

(I'm not talking about the missing pieces here ... I know all about them. I'm talking about people who have given me full details of addresses and people living there, only to search those names and ages and be told that FindMyPast has no results for me ... )

I've always found FindMyPast better than the other sites for census records. Maybe you are unlucky.

Can you give an example?
