I'm searching for information on Nancy Stephenson .
her maiden name was Earl .she was born around 1802-1803 in north Yorkshire .
she was married to Edward Stephenson who died in 1877.
From the scant information we have on the back of a photograph we have of them ,she appears
to have died in or around 30th march 1878.
I know that they were living in or around the boroughbridge area of north Yorkshire .
I know that Edward was possibly a farrier in the area.
He passed away prior to his wife .believe he was born 1799-1801?again in north Yorkshire .
Edward and Nancy had a grandson who was given Nancy's maiden name of earl  .
They were my 2x great grandparents .
Any in formation would be greatly appreciated .

What information is on the back of the photograph?

Can you post an image of the front and back of the photograph please.

There is a marriage in 1831 Aldborough for Edward Stephenson and Nancy Hardesty.
Nothing on the banns to say if either were single or widowed.

Nancy's children, John and Elizabeth were born after the start of mandatory birth registrations.  Their registrations have Nancy's maiden name written as "Earle"

STEPHENSON, JOHN        EARLE
GRO Reference: 1843  D Quarter in OF KNARESBRO  Volume 23  Page 269

STEPHENSON, ELIZABETH        EARLE
GRO Reference: 1846  M Quarter in OF KNARESBRO  Volume 23  Page 410

Spelling variations are EXTREMELY common.

Back then, Boroughbridge came under the Knaresborough Registration District:
