Thomas Trimer appears on the scene in 1783 as the printer of some "Poetical Attempts"

The name might be “Trimmer.” Note the macron over the ‘m’.

I think to fit into the column and best practice was to hypenate at the end of a syllable so 'print' - 'er' rather than say 'pri' - 'nter'.
