If you have access to Ancestry, there is a tree - Wilson Cubby - which indicates that your ancestor, George Bowman Wilson, is the son of Joseph and Mary, and that Joseph is the son of William and Mary ??

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
He/she who never made a mistake, never made anything.
Archbell - anywhere, any date
Kendall - WRY
Milner - WRY
Appleyard - WRY

Very sad (am assuming this is your Joseph. Son James (1 month) is with them in 1851:

"BOY KILLED.- An inquest was held before Mr. Lee, Deputy Coroner, on Tuesday the 15th instant, at the Waggon and Horses, Caldewgate, in this city, on view of the body of James Wilson, aged four years, son of Joseph Wilson, saddler of Milburn-street. On Sunday the deceased was standing near the river Caldew, on the opposite side of the Brewery-row road, where a large sewerage metal tube had been temporarily laid. Several boys were playing with the tube by pushing it backward and forward when it suddenly rolled forward toward the river, knocked deceased down, and passed over him. He died instantly. The metal was nearly a ton weight. Verdict - "Accidental death."
