Have I read this  1906 census correct,

for the children , I read infants of Robert Sonet ,

if so I have muddled this family up,

and just need to check before I delete them.

It's enfant which is child (not necessarily an infant). The census shows the parents, children and the father of the head of the household.

Thank you so much , I thought I was getting so muddled,

I have the original transcripts that say they are the children of

Philippe Sonet and Margurite Rauber.

but the writing on the census which said Infant SONET ROBERT,

just threw Me in to a right muddle .

I’m sorry to say but I think you are right Eilleen,

The entry translates as ‘child Robert Sonnet’ which suggests they were not Philippe Sonet’s children. The last entry on the page you’ve posted reads ‘father Philippe Sonet’ so there’s some contrast made by the enumerator.

So sorry to disappoint you - do you know who Robert Sonet was? Was Philippe his brother? Perhaps he and Marguerite adopted them informally at an early age? Are the family with children among the documents you’ve posted recently? There may be some clues there.

Look on the bright side, your French is making great strides with all this research  :)

Haven't managed to find the Census you posted. Is it in Mandeure, Doubs?

Was Charles Philippe working as a foreman in a Paper Mill? If so, is this him in 1936?

61, 62, 63 and 64 are the children of Robert Sonet , why not trust it . A census   shows the persons who were living at an address when the enumerator was visiting the house (exactly the same in England), it's not a "livret de famille".

Did you already show this census extract in a post , it seems to me I have already seen it ?

Birth of 2 boys ( Charles Roger and George Eugène  8 october 1897 in Mandeure to Charles Philippe Sonet and Marie Marguerite Rauber.
I presume the other children have the same parents (I'll check).

Robert Sonet is still a mystery.

a tree on geneanet that 's got the couple , I see no Robert.

Anyhow , the children I found aren't Robert Sonet' s ,whoever he was.

The only thing I can think of is that the enumerator meant Enfant Sonet/Rauber ( child of the preceding  Sonet and Rauber)(  Robert and Rauber are strictly pronounced the same in french) and obviously there is a change of page between the parents and the children.

Added : Helene is Louise Helene Augusta. Born 30 may 1895 in Voujaucourt to CP Sonet and MM Rauber
