Locating clip of great granddad in 1970s UK TV programme
« on: Monday 20 March 23 08:09 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to locate the only video clip of my great grandfather Max, in a documentary of the parks of Berlin in a programme (or episode) we believe was called 'The Parks of Berlin'. It was broadcast in the UK around about  1971/72. The clip shows him in Viktoriapark in Kreuzberg, watching a chess game being played.

It’s a bit of a long shot but would anyone be able to help at all please? We have been trying to find it for many years now and it would be incredibly special for the whole family to see it, especially his 94 year old daughter.

Morning Frenchy
Do you know if it was broadcast by the BBC? If so try contacting their archive department as they may be able to advise.
Also try the British Film Institute archive ( BFI) who similarly may have advice. Both available via search engine of your choice .
I presume you’ve already googled the films name and nothing has come up for you ?
Do let us know how you get on .

Hi candleflame,

Thanks for your help.

Yes, we’ve already Googled with no luck.

A search of the BBCs Radio Times programme index for ‘Berlin’ during the 1970s didn’t find the programme so I assume it was on ITV. I emailed ITV back in 2017 and received no response but will try again. I will also try contacting the BBC archive department  and BFI.

There are other footage archives such as Shutterstock etc. Worth a try searching them all.

Also bit of a long shot maybe, but why not try the Deutsche Kinemathek via this [TV archive] link: https://www.deutsche-kinemathek.de/en/collections-archives/our-archives/mediathek-fernsehen
