Francis Hunter 1806-1876
« on: Tuesday 21 March 23 18:16 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for anything that could help me locate the parents/Siblings of Francis Hunter (abt.1806-abt. 13 Jun 1876) please. I am also looking for a burial record of his if possible.

I am aware of a tree that has a father and mother with a headstone, however, there is little other a coincidence to provide some sort of proof that these are his parents.

The following information is what I have on him in order.

Baptism; 10 Jan 1806 Sutton in Holderness, York, England. (Father is William Hunter).

Marriage; 18 Oct 1822 Sculcoates, York, England.
Married Jane Gibson (abt.1807 -  Sep 1878)

Occupation; Joiner/Carpenter

1841 Census; Piece 1226, Book 8, Folio 8
1851 Census; Piece 2358, Folio 407, Page number 10
1861 Census; FOUND, BUT UNABLE TO LOCATE PIECE, FOLIO, AND PAGE NUMBER.
1871 Census; Piece 4765 Folio 17, Page number 5

Children;
Jemima Hunter (abt.1823 - 1 February 1907) - Married James Voakes (11 Jan 1818 - 2 Jun 1894)
Elizabeth Hunter (abt.1824 - March 1912) - Married William Coates (abt.1831) on 18 Mar 1852
Sarah Hunter (abt.1827)
Samuel Hunter (abt.1830)
Mary Hunter (abt.1831)
Ann Hunter (abt.1833)
Jane Hunter (abt.1836)
Frances Hunter (abt.1837)
William Thomas Hunter (abt.1841)
Jane Ellen Hunter (abt.1844)

Probate; 18 Sep 1876. Leaves Effects to Jane Hunter.

*Note* Further details may be found here for Thomas William Hunter whom I am under the impression (after a bit of digging) is the son of Elizabeth Hunter before her marriage to William Coates https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=870291.new#new

Thanks Carol.  :)
What a shame that Andrewp91 doesn't seem to be interested in his own post.
I see no point in posting further information.

Thank you to the person who sent a notification to me about this via private message.

To your original comments. Thank you for also finding the information that I had regarding a William and Sarah Thompson, not sure how you managed to select these two people as the being the definite people considering there does not seem to be a record showing Francis’s mother anywhere and with a name like William Hunter, I’m sure there probably been many families around at a similar time. (Hence the reason I was asking for some proof of the parents).

Thank you also finding the information I didn’t have (the burial), not sure where this is sourced or how you found it (the date) but you managed to find something I didn’t have. So genuinely, thank you for that.

Regarding your newer post understandably you might seem a little annoyed at not receiving a reply back, although petty, it doesn’t cost a lot to say ‘thank you’. However,.. you know what actually, I just wrote a whole thing about the reason why but then realised I don’t need to explain myself to anyone on why I failed to report back with questions or appreciations. The world does not revolve around Rootschat and things happen in peoples lives.

And as for your ‘I see no point in posting further information’ think it’s best for all if you don’t reply back with all due respect. But again thank you for the burial you did find.
