Petty court reg

Hello, please could someone decipher this for me, try as I might I can't figure it out.
It is from the Irish petty court registers and is the summary of punishment for an assault charge.

Cor, this is a tough one!  ::)  My best guess although some of the words are not easy to figure out.

Def. convicted of the offence as charged and has? to pay for five yrs ? and sixpence with one shilling? and nine pence ? and (can't really make this out) last word I think is payment.

I wonder how many other people found this hard to decipher over the years!

You've got some bits that I didn't, so adding in what I think I saw:

Def convicted of the offence
as charged and ordered to
pay for fine two shillings &
sixpence with one shilling
& sixpence costs and ordered
if in default of payment

Most of the last part looks as though it might be struck out and/or overwritten, but I'm not sure I've got that bit right anyway.

Failure to pay a fine might mean the alternative was a short stretch inside, but from the few I've seen before, these sentences tend to use a fairly standard set of phrases, so is there anything else on the page that would shed light on it?

No I don't think so, it is from one of my great grandmother's many court appearances.
What has been deciphered is fantastic
