Occupants of an address
« on: Saturday 08 April 23 16:14 BST (UK) »
I would like to find out who lived at the following address from about 1880.
13 Bury Road Tottington Lancashire England BL8 3HD.  Can anyone start me off please?  (newbie).
I have looked on the local heritage site and am about to contact them just now .  Kind regards  Ploppy.

1891 - RG12/3129 folio 38 page 16

13 Bury Road - John Haworth with Elizabeth, James, Alice, John, Fred and Mary Ann.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Unfortunately, the 1881 census that I am looking at for Bury Road does not provide house numbers for the residents.

In 1891, the Howarth family are living there:

They are still there in 1901:

EDIT - I see BumbleB got there first!  ;D

By 1911, the Dearden family had moved in:

Emily is still there in 1921.

Census years - FindMyPast has a facility to search by street address, as well as by name.

I'm sure someone else knows how to do it for other entries.

1939 register - there doesn't appear to be an entry for No: 13 Bury Road, Tottington.  No: 3 is the first entry then a jump to No: 15.

1939 - 191 Market Street - Norman and Elizabeth Pilkington plus one other.

Again, via FindMyPast.

Genuki might be of assistance in finding where records are kept.  It looks as though Tottington is split into Higher End and Lower End.
