I have found houses on FindMyPast 1939 register search by putting the house name into ‘optional word’
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Ancestry is not the be-all and end-all of genealogy! :D

Ancestry is not the be-all and end-all of genealogy! :D

Nevertheless it is possible to do what was asked on Ancestry by selecting the 1939 England and Wales Register from the Card Catalogue and using an appropriate keyword in the resulting search template.
Stokes - London and Essex
Hodges - Somerset
Murden - Notts
Humphries/Humphreys from Montgomeryshire
