Female name shown in a 1714 baptism register
« on: Wednesday 19 April 23 14:53 BST (UK) »
Good afternoon,

I am having difficulty deciphering the female name in the following entry:

? daughter of John Sykes Clothier January 9th

On the baptism register the entry appears above the entry for Robert - about halfway down the page.

I have also included the BT's - again halfway down the page above Robert.

FamilySearch transcribes the name as Rachel.

Thank you for looking, any help will be appreciated.

Regards

Janet

I can't see where it is on the second page at all  :-\

First page looks like an "h" in the middle like in Johanna or Siobhan.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

The first letter has a dark / but going top left to bottom right. The second entry above marriages.

With a little, no big, help from Davedrave, I can clearly see Katherine on the BT's. On the register the 't' has disappeared, probably when the image was Photoshopped?

Thank you all for your help.
