WHITE. Kilworth, County Cork
« on: Saturday 20 May 23 19:08 BST (UK) »
Am researching members of this family who emigrated to Victoria Australia c1862. Have knowledge of family in Australia. Seeking information about members of the family who remained in Cork.  Names I am interested in are a TIMOTHY  and WILLIAM WHITE.  They resided in an area between Araglin and Kilworth in the townland of Ballynamadagh according to Griffiths Valuation.  The family who emigrated were a PATRICK WHITE and MARY WHITE nee TOBIN  and  seven of their children.

Do you mean Ballynamuddagh?
If so it is in the registration district to Fermoy which you can search for free on Irish Genealogy, just prove your not a robot and sign in
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
and the RC parish is Kilworth
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0072

There are two White family in Ballynamuddagh in 1901 (think I have the correct Ballynamuddagh, there is more that one)

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

They resided in an area between Araglin and Kilworth in the townland of Ballynamadagh according to Griffiths Valuation.

Agree with Sinann - the townland is Ballynamuddagh.

Here it is - about 3km south-west of Araglin.

Thank you for reply.  Will check out what you suggested.  Time frame is 1862c. Already have some info relating to Patrick White but only until 1852.   Unable to find exact date of his marriage in 1838 in Mitchelstown , Cork  to a Mary Tobin.

Welcome from me also.  :)

How are William and Timothy White related to Patrick and Mary Tobin White?

Do you mean the two named by KG in the Tithe Applotment Books? Those records are 1820s.

There are several children born to Pat and Mary in Kilworth from 1840s but I don’t see any Timothy or William.

Thanks for reply.  I am working on the assumption that William and Timothy WHITE were brothers to Patrick White.  That makes them uncles to several children born to Patrick White and Mary Tobin.  All of Patricks familyemigrated to Australia and there were another four who died between 1841 and 1862.  Have not been able to find where they were buried etc.    Have baptism dates etc from Kilworth Catholic Records.  Mary White's mother a Mary Tobin also emigrated to australia at the same time as her husband was deceased.    Husbands name was Michael Tobin possibly deceased 1862.   Mary's mothers name was :D Mary O'Mahoney from around Mitchelstown  Cork.
