Thanks so much, amondg, for all your excellent work, and for the date of death of Katherine Crossett nee Vorhees, in 1912. James is a widower in 1920. He is age 89 which backdates to dob of 1830. I see that, as per the 1920, James emigrated 1856 which would fit with a date of marriage to Nancy in 1858. It is of concern that in 1860, 1862, and 1870, James is a carpet weaver but in 1900, he is pump hand in a ship yard, and in 1910 he is a boiler maker in a ship yard. Despite that, the names of the sons are the same in 1910 as in 1870 in the same birth order except there is no James in 1910. Did he marry or die young? Looks like the same family.
Martha is 30 in 1910 so born abt 1880 so must be James and Kate's daughter. On the 1910, both James and Kate say it is their second marriage, and Kate says she is the mother of 6 children, 2 living. That would be Martha and

. Maybe one from her previous marriage.
As for James' mother being possibly Mary, perhaps I have him with the wrong family back in Ireland as I don't have a brother John, same age although there are many gaps between children of John Crossett and Annie Foster. I will check for a John and Mary Crossett back in Ireland. Today, I will phone the Green Mountain Cemetery. Also look for Mary in 1860, age 69 i.e. born abt 1790 in Ireland.
Thanks again amondg.
