In the hope of Blessed Resurrection to Eternal Life, there lie below the remains of John Hutchings, Esquire, and of Elizabeth, his wife
He the son of Samuel Hutchings, gentleman, from the land of South Cadbury, and Mary, his wife (formerly Mary Popley), from the land of Milborne Week [Wick]
She the daughter of James Medlycott, Esquire, from the land of Milborne Port
He died 3 July 1774, aged 81[?] years
She [died] 18 June 1757, aged 61 years

Deo favente hoc praedium et dormitorium emit
Anno Domini 1735

'With the help of God he bought this estate and resting-place in the year of the Lord 1735'
