Hello Rootschat people,

My GG Grandfather William Milne was married twice, I have found the marriage certificate for
Jane Elspet Cowie, but can't find a certificate for his other supposed wife Margaret Brandie Aberdien.

Any help would be appreciated

The Jane Elspet Cowie i have  1853 - 1924, I think William had ? Jessie, Andrew,Peter, John with Jane.

Margaret Brandie Aberdien 1864 - 1931  with whom William Milne had 3 children Robert  1887 - 1917 KIA WW1 and buried in France. Thomas 1893 - 1978 Who is buried with his mother Margaret Brandie (and his wife Georgina) in Rothes Old Churchyard, Moray.

I only think there is 1 William Milne.

Also, what does William’s death certificate say?

Which child is your direct ancestor?

If these are Jane Elspet’s children then they are being born over the same period as Robert & Thomas dates you gave .

I've checked the marriages on Scotland's People.  Two different William Milne's.

2 February 1884 William to Margaret Brandie, William's father is James a farmer, mother Margaret nee Wilson

26 May 1888 William to Jane E. Cowie, William's father is Thomas a farmer, mother Jessie nee Henderson.

Added: 1888 William is age 38, 1884 William is age 42
