Welcome to RootsChat!
I'm assuming this is the correct Sylvia?:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/207174134/sylvia-may-smith
Her gravestone gives a birth date of 4th January 1933.
There is a Sylvia M. born 4th January 1933 in Kent on the 1939 Register, but with the surnames Flisher and Croft (which was added later, indicating a married name). This Sylvia was registered under Sylvia M. Moody in 1933 (as an illegitimate birth) but her mother, Lillian Moody, later married John Edward Flisher. A Sylvia M. Moody married Eric Croft in 1954.

Okay, I have found the birth registration for one of their children (1968-2018) and it has the mother's maiden name as 'Flisher', so it appears that it
is
the right Sylvia.

Her gravestone gives a birth date of 4th January 1933.
The best way to discover Sylvia's maiden name would be on the birth registration of her children. If she is your grandmother, then could your mother/father or any of your aunts and uncles find a copy of their birth certificate, which should state her maiden name? We are not allowed to discuss living people on RootsChat, but how many children did George and Sylvia have? Is the Find a Grave profile correct in that they had at least a son called George (1960-2012) and a daughter called Fay (1968-2018)?
There is a Sylvia M. born 4th January 1933 in Kent on the 1939 Register, but with the surnames Hisker (?) and Croft (which was added later).

That's on my end, John. I amended my post as I learnt more about Sylvia. I had not seen your post.
I am now satisfied that she is Sylvia May Moody also Flisher.

I do not appreciate the accusation.
You can see from my post of 17:33 (BEFORE yours) that I had established the Flisher connection.
