Waterford place name question-

Hello, I've been struggling to find information about my great great grandfather, and may have found a reference to his birth in Co Waterford in 1830, linked to his enlisting for the navy. He gives his place of birth as '  Villasten, Waterford, Ireland '.
Google isn't helping me, doe this mean anything to anyone in that part of the world? Could it be the name of a house? Doesn't sound very Irish!.
