ferry lane pyewipe skellingthorpe
« on: Tuesday 08 August 23 23:08 BST (UK) »
I had been trying to find out more about this ferry and I had amazing and generous responses from the board with articles from Stamford and Halifax! local papers. My great grandparents, grandparents and father are in the Skellingthorpe churchyard and I lived in Skellingthorpe for the first 12 years of my life

I have since found this picture among when sorting out old family photos.  So I can't imagine why this isn't that ferry but a friend with an old map showing the  ferry says that the map doesn't show the building seen in the photo.

Does anyone have any idea about this?

I'm not finding the way to include a photo easy as it doesn't appear in preview although it is shown in the attach box so I suppose it comes through without passing thru' preview

Hi,
apparently there were two ferries in the area. One at the end of Fen/Ferry Lane and the other at the Pyewipe Inn.

Oh! What a tangled web we perceive,
where ancestors try to hide and deceive.
