German to English translation on back of photo please?
« on: Thursday 17 August 23 14:58 BST (UK) »
I hope I can upload the images of the front and back of the photo.

The man is my husbands maternal Uncle, *** Heuer.  My mother in law is unable to remember and all we know is that *** went to Japan and supposedly married there. We don’t have a birth date for *** but both of his siblings were born in Hamburg, Germany. Dieter in 1934 (deceased) and M-i-L 1936 to Erwin Heuer 20 October 1906-31 August 1983 and Gertrude Ewert (Gertrude died young and we don’t have a date for either birth or death).

The photo is in M-I-L possession and was received in this condition. Maybe all the message says is to apologise that it has been cut down?

We’d be very grateful for thoughts.

Kit

Edit: original back of photo deleted to try and give me space to upload a more detailed image, which I couldn't do.  Original image posted in the thread again.

Hi Kit,

I am struggling with 2 words. When I zoom in, everything pixelates.  :(

What I can make out is:

Leider sind die Bilder
von der Trauung von einem
? ? etwas demoliert

Unfortunately, the pictures from the wedding ceremony were somewhat demolished by a(n) X X

Woofer needs to go out - I'll have another look later!  ;D

Hi Karen,

Your translation is much appreciated here.

I uploaded from my iphone for the first time, as I have had issues doing it any other way previously.  I chose the smallest of the resolutions to ensure it could be uploaded.  If you think it wise to try and upload it at 'medium' size, I will try that.

Have a nice walk with your four legged friend.  (mine is lying next to me chillaxing atm)

Had to delete the original one from the thread as it wouldn’t let me upload a larger version. Unfortunately, I can’t upload anything larger so going to put the first one back here 😕

Husband thinks the 2 words might mean something around 'over exposure' of the film or maybe the 'flash'?  Would that work in this case?

Wow Dave, that's an interesting thought.

If correct, I wonder in what context he meant that.
