Help with a couple of words please
« on: Thursday 17 August 23 18:31 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone
I wonder if anyone can help with the couple of words highlighted in this document?
I think the second is "Ceylon" but I'd like your opinions please.

Thanks very much in advance.

I think the first of the words is 'disease'.

I'd go with disease, now that it's been pointed out.

I worked in healthcare in Africa many years ago and "Wild Bill Harzia" was a regular attendee at the hospital. I've just looked at Google for the world spread of schistosomiasis (aka bilharzia) and I can't see that it occurs in Sri Lanka (Ceylon).

Thanks so much for the replies.
The knowledge of the group is fantastic!
Disease seems a good option.
Thanks to Zefiro for the links which confirm that Walter had been in Ceylon.
Thanks again
