Street name in 1931 Canada Census Vancouver

Trying to decipher street name in attached.  Name next to the address James Giocoffi (??) is the owner of what appears to be a large hotel valued at what appears to be $80,000

It is a hotel where a granduncle stayed while working in British Columbia.

There are newspaper reports of a Stratford Hotel at 296 Keefer Street, Vancouver?

Thanks  Street View shows a large brick building today.  Looks like a good fit. I'll check some city directories. 

An online photo confirms this hotel was built 1912.   Image found online shows it in 1970s

Peter Giovando  and John Tha  bought the building in 1929

https://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Genealogy  has both their death records, and the marriage of John Tha to a widow Giovando.

I had no idea "Tha" was a surname, let alone an Italian one!

So, is your James Gio- something a mistake?  Hrmm. Too late for me to ponder this mystery!
I think it's James Giocobbi, listed as caretaker on electoral records, which could be the Giocomo Giocobbi in the death regs.  (Is Giacomo the Italian version of James? )

Giacobbi or whatever the first name was on census was not the relative.  I clipped the first part of document as it showed street name.

My relative was living there.  He was Thomas Handcock Pope 1859-1936.

Mystery remains as to why he was in the hotel.  He was a carpenter and bridge builder but at time of death he was farming.  Possibly he was in transition from his bridge building career.
