Latin names on baptism entry

Hi,

I always thought I was pretty good at tranlating the latin names to their english equivalents on church records, however, this one has me flummoxed - I initially thought Mary, not noticing the second word beginning with A - So then I thought Mary Anne or Marianne....but now I'm not so sure - I know it is the child of William Shea and Mary Dunne - one of many - but what do others think this name is.

Yes, that's what I think too - but I'm not sure of its English equivalent....if there is indeed one.  All the other children have their latin names on their baptism records but their English equivalent on other official records, so I am presuming the same with this child.

Mary Ann/e - because she is the ‘object’ in the procedure it is Mariam Annam.
Accusative case,  if I remember.

Thank you - I knew there were different endings to names dependent on various things, and presumed "am" was always connected to marriage for some reason but thank you, I agree that it is Mary Ann/e  Thanks once again

Mariam Amiam  =  Mary Amy

The "m" endings are because they are in the accusative case.

Thanks for your response - I did check against my list and Amia did state Amy, but I wasn't sure, (probably as I was looking at it and overthinking for far too long lol), if it was N or M - eg, Annam or Amiam lol

I personally think the lack of the dot above the letters in the A word, (all the other dots are quite clear above Mariam and in her Dad's name, full stops), sways me to it being Annam x
