Two Words I can't make sense of

This is a burial entry from the the register of All Saints Newcastle upon Tyne, 1 April 1676.

It reads:

1 Infant son of Anthony Grant wat [waterman]

there are two words following that I can't make sense of, they look like' Cohurh deffrs'

Can anyone help?

The first word is "Church", I think

Agree with Shaun re Church.

After Grant     'with Church rites' maybe   - cannot actually see rites but it makes sense - goingback to look again.
Is there another word meaning rites?    office's maybe?    :-\ :-\

A slightly bigger snip would/might help to see how writer forms letters - for comparison.   ;)

It's definitely 'waterman' rather than 'with'. Two reasons; Anthony is described as a waterman in other entries and 'wat' is the normal contraction for 'waterman' in this register. The first letter in the second word is definitely a 'd'.
