William John Nelson b 1891 west Derby / Liverpool

I am looking for the parents of William John Nelson. b 1891 West Derby / Liverpool  m 1923. Sarah Ann Swindells
There are so many William John Nelsons born about the same time & in the same area I am finding it difficult to get the right person. 
I have him on the 1939 Register but that is as far I I can go st the moment ,    Any help greatly appreciated.   Thank you Tineke

What is his actual birthdate on the 1939 register?  I can’t see any entry

What is his fathers name on his marriage cert

There are only 3 William John Nelson births registered in Liverpool in 1891 - should be easy enough to pinpoint him with either his fathers name or possibly his actual birthdate.

If you have him on the 1939 register - why have you given 1891 as his birthyear?  The 1939 entry does not support that birthyear?

How do you know he was born in Liverpool?

According to a published tree, that date of birth is 29th October 1889.

I can’t see a birth and name to fit on GRO.
Nor can I see one for the mother’s surname on the published trees.

That has a marriage between Niel Nielson and Isabella Dudley for his parents.

Thanks for your reply. I made a mistake with Williams birthdate l was 2 years out   However  I have copied then1939!Register , This is definitely the right family.

I have not found a marriage certificate for William @ Sarah Ann. Only the Register which of course does not give parents names

According to Lancashire BMD https://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ the marriage took place in a Registry Office or the Registrar attended so unlikely to see a copy online.

There are only 2 William John Nelson births in Liverpool between 1888 - March 1890.  Both were in 1889 but neither qtr matches an October birth which suggests he wasn’t born in Liverpool

The marriage was Dec 1923 by which time he was 34yrs old.  Have you looked for him on the 1921 census? 

You will need to buy a copy of the 1923 marriage cert to get his fathers name/occupation

Where does he fit into your FH?  I noticed they had 10 children between 1924 & 1940

Thanks for reply .  I am researching for a friend , the William John b 1889 was her grandfather .  I will suggest buying a certificate .
