hello all, a part of the 1939 register I had been looking at on  line was originally blacked out but now is visible  any idea 's why this would happen ?

The 1939 Register (not census) is updated at regular intervals.  Blacked-out entries are revealed if it is found that that person has now died.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Entries are made visible when either a death is notified for that person or they were born over 100 years ago

The 1939 National Register (N.B. not a census!) redacted names of people not known to have died AND born less than 100 years ago.

The database is updated by TNA and FindMyPast, I think on a monthly basis.
