Henry James Wright 1869 - 1943 Lambeth

Hi All

I am trying to find information regarding my Grandfather who was Henry James Wright who was born in Lambeth, London.  He was married to Elizabeth Rose Wade with whom he had a sone Alfred Christopher Wright ( b1887 ) He later had a child ( Albert Edward Wright my Dad born in 1922)  with Hannah Ester Hyam who was born in 1878. 

I have been a member on Ancestry for some years and am not happy that the suggestions are correct as the dates dont tally with my Grandfathers death.  As I have found out after spending a lot of time following suggestions which I now believe are information entered in error by other members.  Unless I can confirm the correct information then the rest of this line incorrect. 

As my family name is Wright which is so common it makes and these people were ordinary working people it makes it really hard to find this information.  please advise me how I can possible find the answer to my Fathers descendants.

When and where did Henry and Elizabeth marry?  I can't find the marriage or the birth of Alfred Christopher. 
If Elizabeth Rose was born in 1871 in Southwark she was extremely young when she had Alfred.  Were there any more children?  What happened to Elizabeth?

Yes, sorry I made a mistake Alfred was born in 1897 .  (I knew as soon as I posted )

Apparently they were married 1891.  They also had a daughter Florence Elizabeth Wright 1892- 1972.

I don't know what happened to Elizabeth as Henry James moved on to Hannah Ester Hyam who he later married in 1941.  Elizabeth died in 1943 according to records so I am unsure if they divorced  or there was a mistake in these dates

This confirms what I have already found on Ancestry.   The problem is I cant get any further back. His father was also call Henry James Wright and was a printer (compositor) which I found on the marriage certificate.

Do you know who the James H Wright (b. 1882) is who shows in the household with Henry and Hannah? Another son?

Added: A birth year of 1882 would make this James too old to be a son to Henry who looks to have been born at the end of 1867.

This looks a likely birth for the James in the household in 1939:

WRIGHT, JAMES  HENRY   Mother's maiden name CARTER     
GRO Reference: 1882  S Quarter in LAMBETH  Volume 01D  Page 417

From his birth date on the 1939 Register (you have this?), this looks the best fit for a birth:

WRIGHT, HENRY        Mother's Maiden name HOLMAN     
GRO Reference: 1867  D Quarter in LAMBETH  Volume 01D  Page 405

Needs further research.

Have you not been able to find Henry in an earlier census before his marriage to Elizabeth Wade?

  Thanks for the info

 I have found several people called Henry Wright living in the area who could be family.   With common names like Henry and Wright I have been making things fit which is why I'm hoping find a more accurate way forward.

I have not come across the name Holman before this is an interesting new lead.
