Hi Folks. I am on the hunt for a connection between my "Wind" and Norwood family lines in County Durham, England. I have come across a marriage that to me at least raises a red flag.
On my tree, I have a Henry Wind/Wynd born about 8 Apr 1770, in Lamesley, Durham, Eng
who I have as husband of Isabell (Hutchinson) Wynd, married 5 Dec 1793 in Gateshead, Durham, Eng. Now, I have just found an Isabella Hutchinson Isabella Hutchinson, Marriage Date 10 Aug 1793, place Stanhope, Durham, England, Spouse Robert Norwood
The reason I am interested in and question this coincidence is that Norwoods in the UK and USA and I share the same yDNA haplogroup. This is one reason why I am looking at ANY Norwood connection to ANY Wind family. On burial, baptism and marriages, in County Durham, Eng, I find Norwoods and Winds living close by, especially around Stanhope way.
So my questions are :
1 are there two Isabellas and this is coincidental
2 Did Isabella remarry a Wind or is there some other complicated relationship....
3 If this is a red herring, where should I begin to pick apart any Norwood-Wind connection.
There does appear to be a common ancestor between Wind/Norwood at least according to yDNA, but where? I am trying to break down a brick wall I have for my Wind line and this may offer another way of looking at different connections.
Thanks to any insights into this odd situation.
