Having a little look at this I  think your great nana's maiden name was Dickinson (or Dickenson) not Dickson?

Can you please give some more detail about how you have come across this "relative"?
Also do you mean an ancestor with that name, or a relative who was contemporary with Ann?

Was this relative male or female?

If female - was Stuart her married name or maiden name?

Ann Dickinson married Henry Pears in Northumberland in 1949

I notice Ann's birth registration shows her mothers maiden name was also Dickinson.  Who were her parents?

Yes I can, My father told me about one of her (Ann's) ancestors with the surname Stuart. This unfortunately is all I know at the moment. I don't know the gender of the ancestor unfoutrenly either at this moment. I understand this is very complex and anything is greatly appreciated!

I don't know the gender of the relative. My dad told me about them and I want to find them. Her mother was Eleanor Dickinson and her father was Robert Appleby.

That is just on FreeBMD and the old indexing, GRO has mother's maiden surname as - (blank)

Robert Appleby & Eleanor Dickinson only married in 1935.  Ann was illegitimate

Stuart is a pretty common surname. The 1911 census has 289 entries for that surname just in Durham

You have no idea of either the name or sex or age of the Stuart you are looking for - so you can appreciate the problem?

Eleanor Jane Dickinson was b 1905 Morpeth - mmn Stephenson

Eleanor Jane Appleby b 2.11.1905 died 1987 North Tyneside
