« on: Wednesday 06 December 23 17:00 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I'm looking for any information re the above couple, of whom I'm the 7th generation. I have the 1841 census info on their 5 sons, 3 of them were in the tailoring trade, but I have no info on them.
Any information gratefully received.
Thanks

You have posted on the Beginners board so we have no idea where this couple were from?

There is no death on freebmd for an Ann Leeson in 1847 but there is a death for an Ann Leeson June qtr 1848 aged 68 - St Mary Newington (Surrey)

The 1841 census shows her occ as nurse - not born in county

When & where were the sons born?

Sorry I seem to have used the wrong place. They were born in the Uk and their children lived in Bethnal Green in the East End of London. Three of the children were in the tailoring trade, so it's quite possible their father was too. I'm interested in what became of Ann,left with 5 children at the age of 34. Did she remarry?

If Ann's married name was Leeson & she died as Leeson - then it's highly unlikely she re-married.

Where did you get her maiden name of Ward from?

I'm not sure, as I have lost the original message, when my computer had a fit, but I put the name into my tree at the time so I assume it was correct. However, as you say if her death certificate had the surname as Leeson, she didn't remarry.
Thanks for your help - it's much appreciated

Something strange - GRO online shows age 68 for the 1848 death of Ann Leeson.  However - the burial record shows her date of burial as 14.5.1848 but has her age as 46

I think she could be the wife of William Leeson - 1841 census shows them in the Newington Rd in 1841 whereas the  older Ann Leeson was living in the Camberwell RD
