I belong to Banstead History and am trying to help a German Golf club looking for information on this individual – they have a trophy named after him. He joined the Royal Artillery in WWI then stayed on in Germany after the war, first as instructor to the officers then as the Pro Golfer in Cologne and later Dresden.
We know about his military history and we know that in 1935 he returned to the UK and married Katchen Senta Knoop previously Effelberger. He set up a golf school in London and she was involved with Ballet production.
We know of addresses in London, Merton, Sutton and Carshalton/Tadworth where he died in 1969. There is more detail about the German golf club and our search to date on our group's site at
https://www.bansteadvillage.com/picture/number811.asp.
I am after three things namely:
Any golf club he was associated with in the UK over the 30 years.
Any addresses between 1950 and 1963 as I have been totally unable to find any
Any descendants who may have memories or documents etc.
The holy grail is a photograph of him.
Thanks
For any help.
