Looking for the ENNION (or ENION or ENNIONS) family.
« on: Saturday 20 January 24 12:36 GMT (UK) »
Hello. On my great great grandfather's birth certificate, it says that his mother's maiden name is "Ennion". Some of his siblings' records have "Enion". The 1851 and 1861 censuses say that she was born in Hatton Heath in 1814 or 1818.

I found a baptism for Elizabeth Ennion in 1810, but on Findmypast connects it with a burial in 1837, which would be before any of the family were born. I also found a baptism in Handley for an Elizabeth Enions, which I thought was a possibility. But I can't find her marriage to my 3xgreat grandfather Abel Roberts, or a baptism for her father James and I wondered if there were any records that weren't on Findmypast that someone could help me with. Or maybe she didn't get married and he wasn't baptised.

Thank you in advance.

The only Marriage I can see pre Davids birth is to Elizabeth JARVIS 1837.

On birth cert of James, Elizabeth is not noted as Elizabeth Roberts, late Jarvis, nee Ennion is she?

EDIT; Roberts, mmmn Jarvis are reg Wrexham 1840/1842 so another couple most likely.

But I can't find her marriage to my 3xgreat grandfather Abel Roberts, or a baptism for her father James .

How do you know Elizabeth Ennion's father was James if you can't find her baptism or marriage?

David Roberts was baptised on 1 Jan 1839 and his birth registered  in Quarter 4 1838, so it is possible his parents married before civil registration started, and took place in a parish where the records aren't on line

Thank you all for your comments.
But I can't find her marriage to my 3xgreat grandfather Abel Roberts, or a baptism for her father James .

How do you know Elizabeth Ennion's father was James if you can't find her baptism or marriage?
I was speculating about the baptism I found in Saighton, which I realise might not be her.

It's definitely not Jarvis, as Abel's father is David, not Richard, as on that record.

Well that clears that up, thank you.

I cant see that bapt you mention as I have no access to FindMyPast, Father James, but the Elizabeth Ennion Burial 1837 has her age 25 (birth c 1812)
Could be another Elizabeth ie a married woman.
Actual image may show more.

1810 Bapt Buera for Elizabeth Ennion has Father as Edward/Mother Elizabeth.

Trish :)
