ALLOWANCE granted to Children : WW1

Can anyone help decipher what this means about allowance to children

Did this man have children from.1916 1919 or not ?

The sentence about disability is crossed out
+ ( he lost 2 fingers )
but the request for information about the children remains unanswered

Could men claim for children born illegitimately in France

I'm trying to work out which of 6 brothers fathered a child near Pas de Calais

The writing is really illegible and there are many pages

What did the award of such an allowance cover ?.

Allowance was for legitimate children up to the age of 16. Arthur would have been sixteen in 1819, so allowance reduced to two children. James would have been born too late to show up on that record.

I did wonder if it was shilling and pence per child

Or something to do with varying  rates of payment per disability or per number of dependent children

I was still typing when Jebber posted about reaching adulthood+ no longer being dependent

Were these payments backdated in a lump sum

 or paid at intervals after soldiers returnev

I can only think the slashed number indicates the change in number of children and those eligible for allowance.
3/2 as three children of which two eligible, the eldest Arthur having reached the age  of sixteen.
2/4 four children now born but again only two eligible.

I may be completely wrong but it’s the only thing that makes any sense to me.

Could this be linked to £ S P as in pre decimal currency?   3/2 would mean 3shillings and 2pence awarded as a weekly allowance.

I have now attacked the disability allowance section for Benjamin HALL he lost 2 fingers and was hospitalized in  a place that I can't read before being sent to England but was re engaged later
