Findlay family GARNGADHILL Rd

I am trying to research my family history and have found out that my father's father was Scottish, unfortunately he wasn't listed on my father's birth certificate. All we know is his name was Donald Ross Findlay. I posted a question on Ancestry, to which I found out that there was a Donald Ross Findlay who married someone in Hull in 1952, my father was born in 1958, his mother and Donald were not married. According to Scottish people, this Donald Ross Findlay was from GARNGADHILL Rd, was born in 1930 and died 1993 in Merton Surrey.

Can anyone help, I'm trying to find more details on Donald and trying to find who his parents were. Unfortunately the census for 1931 was destroyed during WW2.

Any suggestions or information kindly appreciated.

His death registration shows he was born 26.8.1930.  This is the birth reference from www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk  The registration District of Garngadhill was in Glasgow - Lanarkshire

His birth cert is a better buy as it will give both parents name as well as his mothers maiden name

I think I will order a birth certificate end of the month, see if I can find out who his parents were, so can trace on Ancestry, I searched census for 1921 for Garngadhill, there are quite a few Findlays in that area.

Fortunately the Scottish 1931 census is intact and will be made available at the appropriate date.

Just checked, census for 1931, will not be available until around 2050, long time. So think birth certificate going to be the answer and hope his parents are on there.
