The John Watson bap. 9 May 1762 son of John and Ann - at Hart was of Dalton per the parish register.

There are a lot of John Watson's why do you think the one at Hart is yours?

Hi, I think this John is mine as my 4 times great grandfather Thomas son of John and Mary was baptised in the parish of Grindonin 1788, his brothers William and Ralph were also baptised there. I can't find John's marriage to Mary or her surname. Any help will be appreciated.

I can't find John's marriage to Mary or her surname. Any help will be appreciated.

There is this marriage possibility -

17 May 1784 Houghton-le-Spring
John WATSON of Norton parish
to
Mary BYERS

(Houghton-le-Spring and Grindon are about 6 miles apart)

Why do you think that your John Watson was baptised in Hart?
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

Thanks Neale,
I have looked at Mary Byers but can't yet link her with William, Thomas or Ralph. Will keep her in mind.
As William & brothers were baptised at Hart in parish of Grindon I looked for marriages in the area and came across John Watson's marriage to Anne Young in 1762 in Hart along with baptism of their son John also 1762. I am just guessing this is my John.

Thanks again.
