If he was RC the parish registers don’t start until 1837

This is likely to be his father, Francis’ probate.

Just above this entry is one for Elizabeth Loughry (died 1855) who was the kin of Francis,  and James is one of the administrators

You will note that James' sister Mary is the joint administrator on both parents estates.
