Jones and Jones
« on: Saturday 24 February 24 10:54 GMT (UK) »
wonder if anyone can help me solve this puzzle please. i am looking for the surname of the wife of william jones who was born in 1827 in maesbury, oswestry. we think he married in 1859 in oswestry to elizabeth but we are not sure if the surname of her is meredith or jones. in the 1861 census for shropshire/maesbury william id the head ages 34 from maesbury. his wife elizabeth jones age 24 or 26 born llanrhaider denbighshire presume this is Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant but not sure. john jones son aged 1 born oswestry also on this census. thank you avril. sorry just to add on the 1871 census elizabeth aged 33 and gives Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. thank you

Have you checked the mother's maiden name for any children that they had?

Yes, I believe it is, LH, I found it but wasn't sure if the OP had that info as she implied that she might have.

Not sure about 1851 - a few possibles.
