Obadiah Perry from Norton St Philip
« on: Sunday 25 February 24 10:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I have just joined after many years of doing family research. I have 2 Perry families in Somerset, one in Norton St Philip and one from Charlcombe. I have found an Obadiah born 1623 in Norton, then his son in 1650. He disappears but I find one in London St Martins in the Field married to a Hester with at least 2 children Elizabeth 1677 and Samuel 1681. He then appears to remarry ( a widower) in Stepney in 1685 to a Martha Eawstare. I want to try and link him back to my Perry family in Norton which starts with Stephen Perry ( another elusive guy whose baptism I can't find). I am sure they are connected as Norton was not exactly a large area. Many thanks in advance

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I can't see where he would fit at the moment. I have quite a few Perrys who disappear from Norton St Philip. Do you have any other Perrys in this family?. I have a Stephen whose baptism I can't find but he marries Joanna Renolds in Norton.

Grace,

Yes, I do have some other PERRY families in the same area.
I just chose Benjamin as his forename is a bit more distinctive than the many Roberts!
In general my PERRY people are not as early as your Obadiah.
Is your research on a Public tree?

Below are a few with Biblical sounding forenames:
Abraham Perry
1773–1836
BIRTH 31 JAN 1773 • Clutton (St. Augustine of Hippo), Somerset, England
DEATH 29 JUL 1836 • Clutton Somerset, England
====
Isaac Perry
1817–1877
BIRTH 12 OCT 1817 • Clutton, Somerset, England
DEATH 10 SEP 1877 • Clutton, Somerset, England
====
Ruth PERRY
1819–1889
BIRTH ABT 1819 • Clutton, Somerset, England
DEATH 23 SEP 1889 • CLUTTON, Somerset, England
====
Praxis Perry
1565–1633
BIRTH 1565 • Orcheston St. George, Wiltshire, England
DEATH 1633 • Orcheston St. George, Wiltshire, England
