Cannot find a record!

Hi, there!
I am searching for a record of death.

It concerns an Elizabeth Robertson nee Templeton who was born in Muirkirk in 1814 and married James Robertson on 31 March 1837 in Muirkirk. Her Mum's maiden name was Adamson.
The 1851 Census has the family in Cambusnethan, and by 1861 James was a widower still in Cambusnethan.  The children on the Census are Alexander (19), William (12), Ann (10), James (8) and John (4), all apparently born in Cambusnethan.
I just cannot find Elizabeth's death date.  Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

I can't see her death either  :-\ Have you been able to find the birth registration for the youngest son John, who you have as aged 4 in 1861? Would indicate a birth c. 1856-7 yet can't see that entry too.

If son John was born pre 1855 and the start of official registration, may explain why you are not finding Elizabeth's death entry if she too died pre 1855.

You could add a post here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=540945 Headstone pictures CAMBUSNETHAN CHURCHYARD WISHAW and see whether Lodger there can maybe check burial registers to see if anything shows for Elizabeth?

I couldn't find John's birth either!  I will try out your suggestion of the forum.  Who knows - I might get lucky!  Thanks again!
