Hi, Just wondering if anyone has come across a William Meadows who died in 1726 and desired to be buried "in" St Iberius Church Wexford, Ireland which may indicate he was also a Rev. He would have come to Ireland with Cromwell or before as a planter and, his descendants married vicars daughters in quite a few generations. I can not find anything about where he came from.
I found somewhere else that there were some people buried in the Channel in St Iberius Church in Wexford, Ireland but no one knows if this is true! This would mean that I have walked over his grave several times.
He may have lived in Newbay Castle in Wexford as a few generations lived there but it no longer exists and his son married Mary Chambers, daughter of Joseph Chambers who also had a Castle in Wexford
Our Meadows lineage is in Burke's Landed Gentry 2012 but has no indication as to where our William came from.
He died in 1726 so if he came with Cromwell he would have been 77 + what ever age he was in 1649 if that was the case or perhaps he wasn't the first Meadows in the Irish Meadows line and he was born here!
My question is: How do I find out where some came from to Ireland?
