Soldiers from Birkenhead
« on: Saturday 18 May 24 22:07 BST (UK) »
Having access to newspapers from WW1 I came across my grandfather + his brother's photos in the Birkenhead post
They committed to regularly printing 21 photos of soldiers participating in the war one page had my grandad and a half brother and full brother .

Another page had another brother who'd been wounded returning for R & R

Great to see photos I didnt know existed
I don't know if attachment s will be too big

My.mum.will be pleased I thought I'd share as it's such a great find .

This one is my grandad Edward Jones.

I don't know how common it was to have 4 brothers in the army
On same page was another set of 3 brothers and 1 young man who looked about 14
My grandad was 17 and his brother only 15 I think.
