Who is Minnie SMITH nee ROBERTS

 I have some high matches to 2 Smith cousins with tiny trees.i know from DNA matches & other clues that the connection is thru their grandmother
Whose maiden name they don't have on trees but is ROBERTS

They have her as first name Minnie married to Richard Smith no dates or locations

After following false Kirkman trails I eventually worked out that
The cousins  respective fathers were
Dereck 1920  m Kirkman + 
( grandson. Told me his grandmother was minnie )

Thomas F C SMITH 1922 -1969
m.Howley (tree has that maternal. grandma as Minnie )
Grandfather Richard SMITH from bury Lancashire.

DNA amounts lead to Minnie having the grandparents Dorcas JONES+ James ROBERTS

One tree that I'm now helping with has
 her as being Mary Ann ROBERTS B 1895 to single mother Harriet Rebecca ROBERTS
1872

I don't know where that information came from ..no sources
I have Harriet.Rs death as 1893 at the mine  where she worked .( In which case she could be Minnie's mother unless Minnie was born earlier)

If I had records I don't know where they are this could be from research done by a relative in the 1970s

Martha ann ...1874 remained single

Amelia 1880 m 1905

There is no sign of a young child with the grandparents and elder daughter's in 1901

I'm wondering if she was actually born after 1901

As this family was very close and had a tendency to look after their nieces nephews & grand children

I am not sure that I am following this properly - however, Harriet Rebecca Roberts, had a child baptised at at Michael and All Angels, Howe Bridge, Atherton
Rebecca Roberts , born 18th January 1893

Harriet Rebecca died in the same quarter.

So Harriet Rebecca ROBERTS could have died of childbirth complications not at  the mine

I LL also have to see if I can find the child in 1911

Oops that should be 1920 before birth of their son Thomas F.

Thomas F C Smith DOB 22 March 1922 is in 1939 register Ramsbottom Lancs. Does not help as lots redacted. It is the same birthdate as on tree, so possibly him.

There is a birth on GRO in Bury reg district for above March Qtr 1922, mmn Roberts, if funds allow it would name his parents. You can then confirm who you are looking for.
