Know I've got relatives who lived on connolly street in the 40s to the early 50's. Including my grandad. They moved to wood green, one to america I think, new Jersey if I'm not mistaken. And to derbyshire where I'm from. Related to Lennons also

Welcome to Rootschat.
Have you searched back from your parent?
This site could be useful. It is free. https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

I just looked deaths up for 1940s. Here is Elizabeth Dwan 76 yrs, a widow.
The informant of her death - William Dwan, of Connolly Street, Kilkenny.
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1955/04422/4154082.pdf

You can see that Elizabeth’s residence was Donagh Street. Here is a marriage for William Dwan, of Donagh Street in 1939
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1939/08855/5202174.pdf

This looks like William’s birth - Dewan

Are these your relatives? As you can see spellings vary.

Yes I'm related to William Dwan of Donagh Street at the time in 1939, married Mary Corrigan. He was my great grandfather.

Welcome back, Englicana.

If you look at my replies #4 and #5, you can see birth, marriage and death records plus 1901 census.
Kilitaglassan has also posted the marriage record.

Here is 1911 census for Peter and Elizabeth ‘Divan’ - it is Dwan on Form A.
https://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kilkenny/Kilkenny_No__1_Urban/Goosehill/527002/

What do you think when you look through all the records? Is it your family?
The male occupations are labourers and there is nothing to indicate, as yet, that they are travellers.
