Campbell of Donegal
« on: Sunday 09 June 24 13:17 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I wondered if anyone can help?
I'm trying to find information on my 5x great grandmother Esther Campbell.
I only have limited information on her from Scottish records and I'm trying to trace her Irish family but so far had no luck.

She was born in 1782 in Dongegal, she married Dominick Cannon (also from Ireland, I believe county Dungiven, but this is disputed) she had around 9 children with him between 1807- 1825. At some point they moved to Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

Can anyone help me find her Irish family?

Many thanks
Amanda

Yeah, I'm mainly looking for Esther's family in Dongegal.
I have found some references that suggest her husband was from Dongegal and not Dungiven but itso all conflating with him.

I think you're talking about the county of Donegal.

do you know the names of the Children they had it might have on there birth certification where they were born and also mention where Esther was born.

On find my past Scotland there is a Peter Cannon born 1831 in Renfrewshire he is on the census of 1881 for Renfrewshire.

They had from my records (found so far)
Frances (Fanny)1807
Michael 1810 born Dongegal
Andrew 1811 born Dongegal
Anne 1819c born Paisley Scotland
Margaret 1822 born Paisley
Rose Ann 1825 born Paisley

Fanny was born in Dongegal and died in New Zealand

Most records just say Ireland from what I found whilst others just say Dongegal
