Grandparents graves
« on: Friday 14 June 24 15:06 BST (UK) »
I know my Grandparents on my Mums side are buried in Glasgow in separate graveyards. My mum was a child when they passed and had no information on which graveyards they are in. Where would I get this information from please

Have you tried FindaGrave.com? You can search there by surname and location, without any years. Also see this for general information: https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/statutory-registers/deaths

As you probably don’t know exactly where they were living when they died you could get the death certificates for them.
Once you have the address(es) where they died that should make it easier to look for the closest cemeteries and make enquiries there.
Good luck with finding them  :)

You could also try searching in an online newspaper database, such as the British Newspaper Archive.

Their deaths and funeral locations may have been announced in the family notices sections published in many newspapers.

Many libraries seem to offer free access to BNA.

Head to scotlandspeople and order death certificates if you have not got them.

Then use the online search facilities like deceasedonline, find a grave, billion graves etc.

Once you know where they passed then contacting the local council should help in determining where the burial records are held.
