Hello again,Not sure if this is the right board to ask on,Castlemere school  Castleton  a district in Rochdale is it still there?I am going back to the 1860's when it was a  boarding school.just wondering if the building itself is there

Not sure it's the same school as there is a different address and build date, but Mr Google has lots of information.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

Thanks BumbleB,I think the school goes back to at least 1841 and i also think it is close to Milkstone Lane/Road

Do you have a context for it?
There are references to Castlemere Board School, which was a school run by the local school board not boarding but that is later than your date.
It was also on Tweedale Street, not Castleton.

Thanks Heywood,yes it was off the 1841 and then 1851 and 1861,

it was the school location I was after,and would you believe it as soon as i had posted it ,I saw on the next page of 1841  Milkstone Road /lane  a few properties down,

So that must be Tweedale Street not Castleton.

That was why I asked re a name - to pinpoint the area.
I think it was the Township of Castleton though.
