1911 census
« on: Sunday 16 June 24 16:10 BST (UK) »
Walter Sillence born 1857 Awbridge is in Newtown, Lockerley, Romsey in 1911.  He gives a description of his occupation as a woodman, but goes into greater detail.
'Cutting and making up Coppiced Underwood(?) into Faggots to(?) the(?) Wood dealer.'

Come someone make a better guess at the 3 words with (?) after them.

Thanks

Underwood looks OK to me, then I think the other two are both '&c'. (People have a variety of ways of writing an ampersand.)
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

I did wonder about an abbreviation but for some reason thought that they would not use it on a census.

Your suggestion does make sense.

Thanks
