The abovesaid Samuel Madeley, and William Madeley of the same, yeoman, were bound. Sworn before W. Williams.

May all men know by these presents that we Samuel Madeley of Ightfield in the county of Salop, yeoman, and William Madeley of the same, yeoman, are held and firmly bound to Henry Raynes, Doctor of Laws, Vicar-General in spiritual matters for the Diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, in one hundred pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the same Henry Raynes or to his certain attorney, executors, administrators or assigns; for this very payment well and faithfully to be made we bind ourselves, and each of us for himself for the whole and undivided amount, [and we bind] our heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals. Given … [date left blank]
Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of: Richard Podmore, W. Williams
Sam: Madeley’s m(ar)k X
